GRACE coordinates a learning community for 5th-8th grade identified higher achieving students in the areas of Language Arts and Reading from our GRACE schools.  These students will have the opportunity to participate in an on-line course where they will be led by a certified teacher to utilize higher level thinking skills as they converse and learn with each other.

A child is identified as a candidate to participate in this program, offered by the University of Wisconsin-Madison, for accelerated learners in the areas of Language Arts/Reading.  To qualify, your child must score, at a minimum, 90% or higher percentile ranking on the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment tool in Language Arts/Reading.

To be successful in these courses students need to be self-motivated, have good time management skills, and be able to communicate with the instructor and other students participating in this class. (WCATY student profile)

There are three face-to face meetings with the students and the instructor, at one of the GRACE Schools, during the duration of the course.
