Welcome! After graduating from St. Norbert College in 2016, I was blessed to start my career in the GRACE system first as an instructional aid then as a Kindergarten teacher with a classroom of my own! I am very excited to take my experience and knowledge with me as I begin my journey at Our Lady of Lourdes this year! Let's make it a great year!

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Miss Gore 2018-2019

Kindergarten is such an important time in a child’s life. Not only are they growing physically, but they are growing academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. As your child’s teacher, I see it as my job to foster their growth in each of these ways.

Please review concepts learned in class with your child every night. Remember- learning and teaching are a team effort! Below you will find a few websites/apps that we use frequently in the classroom so your child will be familiar with their use.

Our kids have begun working on Sight Words. Each week you will receive a new list of words.  Please practice new and old sight words every night so they become routine.

Math homework will vary depending on the lesson. Please make sure to review what you child is learning at school!

Guided reading books have begun coming home. Please have your child read to you whenever convenient and send bags back to school with paperwork filled out.

Kindergartners learned that Election Day is an important privilege that not everyone has  We decided that we needed to participate! Kids got to fill out a voter registration card, campaign for their class reward of choice, and vote for their favorite option. Our class voted for Stuffed Animal Day! We loved being able to do an adult thing.
Here are a few highlights from our Apple and Globe weeks! We sure have been busy! We got to practice stacking apples, taste test 3 different kinds of apples, and even make applesauce! We partnered with 8th graders to make globes out of pumpkins! We even pretended that we had to build a boat to take us to a different country- then tested to see if our boats floated!

Grandparents Day was a huge success! Families were encouraged to sit together at Mass (Kindergarten brought up the offertory gifts) to enrich their faith experience. After Mass, families gathered in our classroom to paint rocks and complete a STEM activity. They even had the chance to take a picture to remember the day by.
